Open Afternoon

25 July '16 by , under Uncategorized.

M.Y Inter Theatre CIC formed just over 5 years ago under the directorship  of Steve Mitchell and Jill Young, offering provision of performance arts inclusion with both on going weekly sessions and numerous performance opportunities for adults with learning and/or physical disabilities, and involving, if wished, their support workers and network of  families and friends.

Over the intervening years groups have been set up in Fenton, Blurton, Uttoxeter, Lichfield, Tamworth and our director Steve Mitchell also delivers sessions within the Regent College in Stoke.

All these groups are incredibly active and over the years have worked either on independent projects or have joined to present large scale productions including ‘Inspired’ at Lichfield Cathedral, ‘Inspired 2’ within a big top, open air Shakespeare at Ford Green Hall, opened the ‘Acoustic Festival of Great Britain’  and we were honoured to welcome HRH Princess Beatrice to an ‘on stage ‘ rehearsal at the Lichfield Garrick Theatre.

Our Stoke group, based currently in Fenton, were also a big part of the BAFTA award winning BBC 2 drama ‘ Marvellous’ and following this we staged a performance last week to launch a CD of the films soundtrack.

Equally we perform within shopping centres, community centres and churches to engage with the local communities  and help to raise money for various charities.

In short we are very active and visual.

As you are aware the involvement with performance arts is an opportunity to develop life skills beyond measure and as directors we are passionate about facilitation being open to all.

We are very aware however that as 16-21 year olds leave college or schools in which they have been educated over many years they may be looking for activities to continue to develop, as such we are asking for your help to spread the invitation to as many of your contacts, pupils or communities as you are able….we simply cannot reach all those who would love to be included.

SO….

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO AN INFORMAL OPEN AFTERNOON HOSTED BY M.Y INTER THEATRE CIC STOKE AT FENTON COMMUNITY CENTRE.

WEDNESDAY 17th AUGUST 2-4 p.m

During the afternoon the members of the group will entertain you with some songs and drama, serve refreshments and chat to you about what we do.

PLEASE share this invitation page

You may RSVP ( so that we have a rough idea of numbers for catering requirements )or forward enquires to steve@soulpath.info

The venue is completely wheel chair friendly.

Thank you so much for your time reading this email and we very much hope to see you at our open afternoon.

Steve and Jill
