We run inclusive performing arts sessions for people with and without learning and physical disabilities, including carers, friends, family and support workers. Our sessions which run round the county and include acting, singing, dance, film and performance, are combined with pure fun and enjoyment. They are not only an opportunity to hone your performance and vocal skills but a chance to meet new friends, whatever your age, ability or talents.
Facilitators and directors, Jill Young and Steve Mitchell, have been working independently in professional and amateur theatre, education, social services and with people with disabilities for the last 25 years. As well as taking adults with disabilities to professional stages they have also won awards in national competitions. They met whilst directing and musically directing and in 2010 formed M. Y. Theatre Company.
2012: M.Y. Theatre joined forces with the Creative Minds Project, Regent Theatre to produce an integrated festive spectacular at the Victoria Hall, Hanley.
2013: As well as going to the Buxton Fringe for an outing of Godstar, M.Y. Inter-Theatre Company also hosted a Celebratory Evening of Integrated Performance and Arts at Lichfield Cathedral.
